Bin Search Lookup

About BINSearchLookup

Montréal-based BIN/IIN lookup API for payment fraud prevention, trusted by enterprise teams worldwide.

What we do

BINSearchLookup provides a REST API that identifies payment cards by their BIN/IIN prefix — the first 6–8 digits of any card number. Merchants and developers use our API to detect prepaid and virtual cards, verify card types in real time, and reduce payment fraud before a transaction is ever processed.

Our database covers 1.4 million+ BIN ranges across 200+ countries, updated daily from official card network sources. API responses return in under 100ms globally.

Who we are

We are a business incorporated in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. BINSearchLookup launched in 2026 to address a gap in the market for accurate, developer-friendly BIN lookup infrastructure. Existing solutions were slow, inaccurate, or locked behind opaque enterprise contracts. We built a clean REST API with transparent pricing and real database methodology.

Our subscription payments are processed via Stripe, Inc. (PCI DSS Level 1 certified). We have passed Stripe's real KYC business verification. All customer billing data is held exclusively by Stripe — we never store payment card details.

Database methodology

Accuracy in BIN lookup depends entirely on how the database is built and maintained. We publish our full methodology — data sources, the 6-to-8-digit BIN transition, accuracy measurement approach, update frequency, and known limitations.
